eBay
Chesamel was hired by eBay’s EU Seller Marketing team to support them with a cross-border marketing campaign by embedding a senior marketer within the team.
Ebay wanted to engage both SMEs and large merchants but needed assistance in growing awareness through marketing and desired some new skills to execute their vision effectively.
To raise awareness of a new cross border product and enhance engagement from Small & Medium Sized Businesses and Large Merchants.
The 12-month campaign delivered on the objectives of the campaign which grew revenues and increased the number of SMB’s and large merchants on the platform.
MEST Deployment to Drive SME Acquisition
Delivery: Our talent experts managed the talent acquisition process for eBay and provided training support and coaching for the embedded team member. The project also delivered agency management, on board marketing materials
Chesamel worked with Ebay to grow their teams, manage their talent acquisition process and provided training support and coaching for the talent we embedded in their team. We also developed marketing materials through agency management for their new cross-border product.
More specifically, this was done via:
Sitting as part of our wider TPO (total project outsourcing) model, we applied our MEST (managed embedded services teams) to provide the skills that were needed to successfully execute the strategy we devised. This required minimal effort from the client but maximum gains in terms of building out their skill set, all managed remotely by Chesamel.
We are thrilled to continue to work with ebay beyond the initial B2B campaign we first engaged upon. It has proved a true embodiment of agile strategy as we have expanded beyond simple B2B commerce as Chesamel has delivered the correct skills to enable eBay to increase their global partner reach. It has facilitated a global increase across key geographic locations including the UK, Europe and the USA.
Given the current climate and the restriction of global travel. The need for SMEs to reach audiences directly has never been more key to keeping companies afloat. A D2C strategy has been a lifeline for organisations as traditional retail continues to stumble, we have seen eBay provide a lifeline to entrepreneurial enterprises by facilitating their platform to market.
