About the Role:

We are seeking a Manager, Indirect Taxes to be based in Luxemburg to support the VAT needs of our German business. This role will be instrumental in supporting with Indirect Tax (VAT) compliance, managing VAT audits, implementing a VAT control framework and participating in a variety of indirect tax projects.

The EMEA Indirect Tax team is responsible for leading all aspects of VAT matters for operations across major markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa. The team is committed to maintaining tax compliance and supporting the business with new initiatives and the implementation of new tax obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the indirect tax elements of the German operations, ensuring compliance with German VAT laws and strategic management of our indirect tax obligations.
  • Taking responsibility for our indirect tax compliance in Germany including reviewing the periodic VAT returns, conducting reviews of OSS and IOSS filings, and managing audits in the course of which you will work closely with our Shared Service Centre.
  • Driving the automation and digitalization of VAT processes, optimizing both new and existing processes and workflows such as the implementation of the SAP S/4Hana processes thereby enhancing efficiency and accuracy in indirect tax reporting.
  • Providing timely and precise indirect tax guidance to business units, helping them navigate complex tax landscapes in Germany and across the EMEA region.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current holder of a similar position, whether in-house or at an accounting firm, with a minimum of 8 years of experience specializing in German Indirect Tax.
  • Proficiency in both English and German languages.
  • Bachelor’s degree focused on Tax, Legal, or Accounting; possession of an advanced degree or Tax qualification would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools; familiarity with SAP systems considered a beneficial asset.
  • Developing comprehensive training materials and conducting training sessions for key functions.
  • Actively participating in global indirect tax projects and staying at the forefront of tax regulations and trends.
