The Story
In 2024, Google Cloud set out to deepen its engagement with Europe’s startup ecosystem. The goal was to create a branded event series that would allow Google Cloud to connect directly with founders, CEOs, and ecosystem enablers across the most influential tech hubs in the EMEA region.
Chesamel was tasked with end-to-end delivery of The Founder’s Story series – from branding to logistics, creative production to live execution. The event was to be consistent in format and quality across cities while offering local relevance and community feel.
The Challenge
With events spanning over 16 key markets including Zurich, Berlin, Oslo, Copenhagen, and Porto, the scale and geographical spread of the initiative presented both a logistical and branding challenge. Each city brought its own unique audience, venue constraints, and cultural expectations.
We needed to:
- Develop a unified, scalable brand identity for The Founder’s Story
- Ensure every local event delivered the same high-quality experience
- Manage rapid timelines with less than a week’s lead time in some cases
- Capture content, data, and feedback to inform Google Cloud’s ongoing strategy
Our Approach
Chesamel acted as the central strategic and operational partner for the series. Working in close collaboration with Google Cloud’s regional leads, we provided a fully managed service covering:
- Creative & Branding: Developed and refreshed digital and physical event assets aligned with Google Cloud’s evolving brand.
- Event Production: Managed all logistics including venue booking, AV, catering, SWAG distribution, and staffing.
- Speaker Coordination: Supported agenda curation, keynote logistics, and panel facilitation with founders and Google executives.
- Landing Pages & Registrations: Built individual event registration pages and ensured integration with Google’s Marketing Studio ecosystem.
- Onsite Support: Provided end-to-end event day execution including registration management, tech support, and guest engagement.
- Post-Event Reporting: Consolidated attendee data, distributed follow-ups, and captured feedback for future iterations.
The Result
The Founder’s Story series became a foundational program for Google Cloud’s startup engagement across EMEA:
- 23 events delivered in 16 markets
- Over 2000 registrations and 1000+ attendees
- High satisfaction and participation from startup founders and VCs
- Consistent branding and attendee experience across all cities
